FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS How long is a counselling session? Just under an hour - 50 minutes. What times are you available? I work mostly within office hours, but I also have some availability in very early mornings and late evenings. These appointments tend to be very popular so there is sometimes a waiting list for them How much does it cost? I charge £50.00 for individuals, and up to £65.00 for couples depending on the time of day. I also have a very few low cost spaces for those on low income, but these are only available during the daytime. How long does counselling go on for? Counselling is normally weekly, and can last for anything between one session and one year or more. I review progress every 4-6 sessions What sort of problems can you help with? My experience is diverse and includes working with psychosexual and relationship issues, sexuality, serious illness, bereavement, disability, depression (especially post-natal depression), anxiety, phobias, OCD, anger management and eating disorders. I also see clients for major companies as part of their services to their workforce. Can I use my private insurance? Yes you can if you have a policy that covers therapy. I am registered by BUPA. However, there is a specific referral route for this. Please contact me for information as to how this is arranged. How can I be sure you are properly qualified? I identify as a heterosexual woman. Being gay affirmative means that I regard other sexualitites - homosexuality and bisexuality - as having equal value with heterosexuality. I am a member of the Directory of Pink Therapists. Pink Therapy is the UK's largest independent therapy organisation working with gender and sexual minority clients.
