Counselling and Psychosexual Therapy in Letchworth

My practice is located between Letchworth and Hitchin in Hertforshire just off the A505 and is convenient for Letchworth, Hitchin, Baldock, Stevenage, Welwyn Garden City and all surrounding areas.

I am an acredited BACP psychotherapist, COSRT acredited psychosexual/relationship therapist and accredited clinical supervisor, who has worked for 30 years in the NHS with individuals, couples and families in a variety of clinical and counselling roles. I work with individuals and couples of all sexual orientations and am registered on the Pink Therapy Directory. I offer clinical supervision to counselling students in training as well as other medical professionals. Students and qualified professionals who want to arrange supervision should contact me direct.

At present I work in private practice. Additionally, I work at the Letchworth Centre for Healthy Living, where I am Head of Counselling and Clinical Services. I head a team of 30 Counsellors and Clinical Therapists as well as being responsible for the clinical training of 30 trainee, including 6 psychosexual trainees.
I work with all types of psychological problems, and offer clients a warm, safe, non-judgemental environment from which to explore their issues.

My main models are person centred, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and integrative. I also use coaching and life skills training where appropriate. I aim to take a holistic approach to my clients needs and will refer to other practitioners where appropriate eg personal training, hypnotherapy etc.
I generally see clients for between 4-20 sessions depending on the issues, although I do undertake long term work as well.

Lecturer in CBT and working in primary care and child protection to advanced counselling diploma students at Herts and Beds Pastoral Foundation.

Visiting lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire running psychotherapy clinics for obese women for Milton Keynes PCT

QOF (Quality and Outcome Framework) Assessor for the Hertfordshire Primary Healthcare Trust, and as part of this role am one of the team of assessors that inspect selected GP surgeries annually throughout the region.
